If you are considering participating for the first time, there are many resources offered to help you through the process of entering as a first time participant (a.k.a. "exhibitor"). Please take a moment to read through the rules and information provided below. The Chicago Flower & Garden Show also provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with other photographers of all experience levels.

In celebration with the ART OF GARDENING, Flower Show Productions, Inc. invites all photographers to the 2013 Chicago Flower and Garden Show: Horticulture Photography Competition. Carefully read all competition requirements and guidelines and remember, plants only please!
ELIGIBILITY
Photography registration is open to Youth: 7-15, (Class 501), and Adult: 16 and older, (class 601-605). Entry is FREE. One entry per class. Employees of Flower Show Productions Inc, associated parties, and their immediate families are not eligible.
REQUIREMENTS
All photographs must include plant material. All works must be original to the exhibitor. Photographs may be color, black&white, or sepia. Digital and all film format photographs are welcomed. Matting of photograph is required. WHITE Mat Board Only. Mat width MUST be considered in FINISHED size. All entries must have a FINISHED size of 18” x 24”
ENTRY
Each photograph must be (separately) registered by completing the 2013 Photography Competition Registration Form.
Label the following information on back of the photograph: Artist name Address E-mail Phone number Class entered Plant identification, (not required but strongly encouraged) Camera (and if applicable film type) used Photograph orientation Artist statement or honors (optional)
DEADLINES
Photographs must be submitted and received by MAIL WITH ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND ACTUAL PHOTOGRAPHS BY: February 1, 2013. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by: February 10, 2013.
Photographs that have won FIRST place at the Chicago Flower & Garden Show are not eligible for re-entry.
JUDGING
Photographs will be individually reviewed by a panel of judges prior to the opening of the show. Photographs will be scored as follows: Creativity, Composition and Technical merit. All winners will be notified before the opening of show. All class winners along with best in show will receive special recognition for the duration of the show. Winnings will be mailed within 60 days after close of show.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSIFICATION
Youth (7-15)
Class 501 NOVICE EYE- Photograph focused on a single plant or flower of your choice.
Adult (16 and older)
Class 601 MACRO- Close-up photograph of plant or flower.
Class 602 LIVE MODELS- People, plants and flowers.
Class 603 LANDSCAPE- Focus on plants and flowers
Class 604 STILL LIFE- Focused around plants and flowers.
Class 605 ABSTRACT- Plants and flowers as primary focus.
